Woodbury University
California College of the Arts (CCA) and Woodbury University (Woodbury) have established a formal teach-out agreement to provide a supportive pathway and a reasonable opportunity for eligible students to continue their studies at Woodbury.
Location: Los Angeles/Burbank, CA
Website: Woodbury University academics
Teach-out agreement highlights
Financial support and scholarships
Woodbury is committed to ensuring that, for most CCA students, total cost of attendance (tuition, fees, and room and board) will be no greater than what you would have incurred at CCA. You will receive scholarships, waivers, or discounts comparable to those you received at CCA for the current academic year, helping to keep your overall costs similar (or lower).
For a small number of students with the highest levels of financial support at CCA, additional coordination may be needed. CCA is working to identify options to support these students.
Students who are eligible to submit a FAFSA must do so by April 1, 2027, and list Woodbury as a recipient in order to be considered for the full range of financial aid. Students who express interest in Woodbury can request a detailed financial aid offer outlining the total financial aid package and cost of attendance.
Housing support
If you currently reside in CCA-operated housing and receive housing assistance, Woodbury will provide housing (based on availability) at a rate that will not increase your overall housing costs. Note that specific housing types (such as single or shared rooms) may vary based on availability.
Residency requirement waiver
Woodbury will waive its standard residency requirements for transferring CCA students. This means you can complete your degree without needing to meet Woodbury’s minimum residency requirement (minimum units taken at Woodbury), once all other graduation requirements are satisfied.
Streamlined admissions and waived fees
CCA students in good academic standing are guaranteed admission into their corresponding equivalent program. Students not in good standing will be admitted to Woodbury in a probationary academic status.
There is no application fee. An enrollment deposit is required to enroll, but it will be applied to your tuition or other charges. You are not required to submit a personal statement, essay, or portfolio.
Credit and general education transfer
Woodbury will accept all earned credit from CCA, including credits previously accepted by CCA from other institutions. If CCA accepted a grade for credit, Woodbury will also accept it. Furthermore, if you have completed CCA's core general education requirements, you will be considered to have satisfied all Woodbury general education requirements. If you have completed some, but not all, of these requirements, your coursework will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
University of Redlands merger
Woodbury is currently merging its educational programs with the University of Redlands. While the merger is expected to be final in summer 2026, all programs will remain intact and will continue to be offered at the current Burbank campus location.
International students
Woodbury will waive any additional English-language proficiency testing or documentation requirements for international students transferring under this agreement, such as TOEFL or IELTS, recognizing that CCA has already confirmed your English-language proficiency for full admission and enrollment.

How to apply for Fall 2027
